Sean Fraser

Sean Fraser is beginning his third season in Harrogate as Lincoln Memorial’s women’s soccer coach. Fraser is the fourth head coach of the Lady Railsplitters, taking over the program in January 2017.

Fraser, a native of Durham, England, has thrust the LMU women’s soccer program on to the national stage during his short time in Harrogate. The Lady Railsplitters completed the 2018 season with an appearance in the Division II Sweet 16, posting a 14-5-2 overall record and a 7-3 South Atlantic Conference record. Additionally, the team finished ranked #18 in the United Soccer Coaches DII National Poll, won the SAC Tournament Championship and finished second during the SAC regular season.

Fraser was honored as the SAC Coach of the Year in 2018 and placed six players on the All-Conference team, Mariana Diaz, Itzel Ballesteros, Jessica Cravero and Alyssa Berry on the first team and Febienne Loetscher and Maria Hernandez on the second team. Cravero, Ballesteros and Berry were also named to the CCA All-Southeast Region Team.

In the classroom, Fraser’s 2019 squad placed 19 student-athletes on the South Atlantic Conference Honor Roll, with the team posting a 3.38 grade point average.

Prior to arriving at LMU, Fraser coached one year at the University of Charleston in Charleston, WV. In his brief tenure as an assistant in Charleston, Fraser helped lead the Golden Eagles to a 19-3-2 overall record and an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship game.

Fraser also has a wealth of international coaching experience, serving as a phase coach for the Middlesbrough FC Centre of Excellence in Middlesbrough, England. While there, he served as the head coach of the women’s U17 team and head coach of the Regional Development Center for male players. During his time coaching in England, he coached Lucy Bronze and Demi Stokes, two players who participated in the 2019 Women’s World Cup for England.

Fraser’s collegiate coaching career began at Midland University in Fremont, NB, where he served as head coach from 2011-15. In his four seasons in Freemont he posted a 53-25-6 record, including an 18-2-2 mark in 2013.

Fraser played his collegiate soccer at Bethel University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education in 2008 and added his Master’s in Education in 2011 while serving as a graduate assistant coach. Since, he has added a Master’s in Business Administration from Southwestern College and a Master of Science in Leadership from University of Charleston.

Fraser also coached at the Sunderland AFC in England from 2005-2007, was Director of Coaching at the Paris Soccer Club in Paris, TN from 2008-2011 and is licensed by the UEFA (A, B & C License), NSCAA Goalkeeping Diploma, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, NSCAA Premier Diploma, FA Youth Module (1, 2 & 3) and FA Futsal Level 1.

Fraser, his wife Taylor and daughter Daisy Jo reside in Knoxville.
