Lady Railsplitters greet Anderson for SAC match and celebrate Senior Day Saturday

HARROGATE, Tenn. -- With their sights set on remaining in the race for the South Atlantic Conference regular season title, the Lady Railsplitters (7-2-1, 5-1-1 SAC) return to the LMU Soccer Complex Saturday to host Anderson (4-7-1, 2-4-1 SAC) for another all-important league bout. Additionally, Lincoln Memorial is set to celebrate Senior Day at halftime of that contest, which is slated for a 1 p.m. kickoff in Harrogate.

The Lady Railsplitters enter this weekend's match without a loss in seven consecutive appearances on the pitch, but they lost ground in the league standings with a 0-0 draw against Queens last Saturday in Charlotte, N.C. Fatigue was a factor in that result as the Lady Railsplitters needed 109 minutes to seal a 4-3 double overtime victory versus Carson-Newman just two nights prior to their trip to the Tar Heel State. Still, Lincoln Memorial is only two points out of first as Lenoir-Rhyne, Newberry and Wingate are all tied atop the SAC standings with a 6-1 record.

Anderson arrives in Harrogate bearing the weight of a four-match losing streak, most notably featuring a 4-1 loss to Tusculum (10/4) and a 7-1 thumping at the hands of Lander (10/15). The Trojans have been outscored 14-2 during this four game skid.

The Trojans have compiled 21 goals and an average of 1.8 goals per game despite their recent offensive struggles. Of the visiting unit's 158 total shot attempts, 87 have landed on target for the second-highest shot on goal percentage in the South Atlantic Conference (.551). Anderson is also assisting at a high rate as 15 of their 21 goals have been scored with an assist.

Anderson's freshman forward Lyssa Engle has made a splash in her collegiate debut as she has racked up nine goals on 16 total shots on goal to lead the Trojans offensively. Fellow freshman forward Maddie Volz has collected four goals and four assists while leading the team in shot attempts with 32. Junior Emily Cowan has contributed a goal and four assists, while Alaina Gay and Rachael Whaling have accounted for a pair of goals apiece.

Sophomore Sadie Lancaster is scheduled to make her 13th start in net for the Trojans. Factoring in the seven goals she relinquished to Lander on Wednesday, Lancaster has surrendered 27 total goals with 50 saves to her credit for a 2.22 goals against average over 1,095:39 cumulative minutes in net.

The Lady Railsplitters have allowed the second-fewest goals (10) among SAC programs this season despite Carson-Newman's three-goal outburst that was aided by an LMU red card in the 63rd minute. The Lady Railsplitters have posted six clean slates in 10 appearances on the pitch, allowing just one goal on two other occasions.

Offensively, Lincoln Memorial has pitched in 20 total goals with an average of two per contest. Senior Fernanda Miaci (Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil) and sophomore Michelle Hunter (Tecumseh, Ontario) have accounted for nearly all of that production, scoring six goals apiece. Miaci is also tied with Maddy Nagy (Rockledge, Fla.) for the team lead in assists with three. Junior Kadie Soall (Tecumseh, Ontario) and Nicole McKinney (Ooltewah, Tenn.) have contributed a pair of goals apiece.

Along with the action on the field, Lincoln Memorial is set to celebrate Senior Day by honoring the careers of Carly Cepelak (Tampa, Fla.), Kristen Cook (Little Rock, Ark.), Samantha Hilliard (Sterling Heights, Mich.), Brittany Jenkins (Alpharetta, Ga.), Nicole McKinney, Fernanda Miaci and Rachael Vienneau (Woodstock, Ga.). The Senior Day festivities are scheduled for halftime of Saturday's contest.

The Lady Railsplitters hold a 3-1-1 edge in the all-time series with Anderson, but they will be looking to avenge a 1-0 loss to the Trojans in last year's regular season match. Lincoln and Anderson finished in a 0-0 draw in the previous meeting at the LMU Soccer Complex back on September 29, 2012.

Saturday's SAC contest between the Lady Railsplitters and the Trojans is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m. in Harrogate, Tenn. The LMU Sports Network will be providing a live broadcast of the match with pre-game coverage beginning at 12:45.
