MARS HILL, N.C. -- Kiera Holland (Columbia, S.C.) and
Jazzy Oates (Franklin, Tenn.) combined for 19 kills to lead the Lady Railsplitters (15-13, 12-10 SAC) to a 25-22, 27-25, 26-24 win at Mars Hill (7-21, 5-16 SAC) in the regular season finale on Friday in Mars Hill, N.C.

Holland accounted for 11 kills on a .409 attack percentage to go along with five digs and two block assists while Oates notched eight kills on a .421 hitting percentage with four digs and three block assists.
Brooke Fleeman (Nashville, Tenn.) tallied seven kills and three block assists while
Liz Brock (Lima, Ohio) had five kills and five digs.

The Lady Railsplitters finished with 36 kills, 12 attack errors and a .209 hitting percentage in the match.

Abby Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) collected 23 assists, 11 digs, four kills, three block assists and a service ace.
Erica Whiteaker (Kingston Springs, Tenn.) led the Lady Railsplitters with 13 digs.

Mars Hill outhit Lincoln Memorial by 19, producing 55 kills on a .234 attack percentage. But in a match that was decided by only seven total points, errors made the difference, as the Lions committed 21 attack errors and 12 service miscues. The Lady Railsplitters forced Mars Hill into a number of those mistakes with 18 block assists as a team.

Rebecca Butler and Elizabeth Kaeser led all players with 12 kills apiece. Maddie Spurgeon tallied 11 kills and six digs while Mary Kate Griffin and Lauren Hochstetler provided nine kills apiece. Andie Russell had 39 assists while Victoria Kaiser paced all players with 20 digs.

The Lady Railsplitters were outhit in every set, most notably in the second stanza when the Lions accumulated 23 kills on a .296 attack percentage. Lincoln Memorial, meanwhile, had just nine kills on 11 fewer attempts. The visiting team trailed 10-4 early in that set before using a late 4-0 spurt, capped by a kill by Fleeman, to take a 22-20 lead. The two teams battled back and forth from there, but Lincoln Memorial held on for a back-breaking 27-25 victory to take a two sets to none lead.

The Lady Railsplitters were at their best in the third and final set, producing 15 kills on a .324 attack percentage. Though it required extra points, the Lady Railsplitters fended off a late surge by the Lions to clinch the straight-set victory 26-24.

Lincoln Memorial swept the regular season series from Mars Hill to beat the Lions for the fourth straight time and improve to 22-8 in the all-time series.

With wins in six of the last eight games of the regular season, the Lady Railsplitters complete their 28-game slate with a 15-13 overall record and a 12-10 South Atlantic Conference mark.

The Lady Railsplitters will learn their seed for the upcoming South Atlantic Conference tournament, which begins on Friday, November 20 in Anderson, S.C., at the completion of Saturday's matches around the rest of the league. Lincoln Memorial enters the final day of SAC play sitting alone in fourth place. Catawba and Queens are both tied in fifth place at 11-10 in league play.
