BREVARD, N.C. -- The Railsplitters (4-4, 3-2 SAC) swept doubles play and owned the back half of singles play in a 7-2 win over the Brevard Tornados (4-9, 0-7 SAC) in South Atlantic Conference men's tennis action on Tuesday in Brevard, N.C.
 
Lincoln Memorial cruised through all three doubles matches, jumping out to a nearly insurmountable 3-0 lead. 
Stefan Hall (Stratford, PEI) and 
Carlos Zunino (Samborondon, Ecuador) bashed Christoph Plasa and Richie Liell 8-0 in the third flight, while the No. 1 tandem of 
Joshua Coulthard (Staindrop, England) and 
Will Sparks (Knoxville, Tenn.) and the No. 2 tandem of 
Pepe Batalla (Barcelona, Spain) and 
Joshua Peress (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) both walked away with 8-5 wins.
 
Batalla and Peress improved to 6-2 as a doubles tandem and 4-1 in SAC play with the victory, while Coulthard and Sparks jumped back to .500 at 4-4 overall with the win.
 
The Tornados took two of the three top singles flights, as Coulthard fell behind Taggart 6-4, 2-0 at the first flight before being forced to retire from the match. Nathan Sabate battled hard for a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-4) win over Batalla in the third flight.
 
The remainder of the singles matches fell in the Railsplitters' favor. Sparks earned his first singles victory of the season, cruising past George Finch 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2, Peress eased by Rory Northam 6-3, 6-2, Hall rallied past Plasa for a 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 (10-6) win at No. 5, and Zunino didn't drop a single game in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Liell in the sixth flight.
 
Peress improved to 4-1 in SAC play and captured his fourth straight win, while Zunino won for the third time in four matches and jumped to 3-2 in league play.
 
The Railsplitters return to the LMU Tennis Complex on Wednesday to host the Catawba Indians for a SAC battle, with doubles play set to begin at 2 p.m.
