MARS HILL, N.C. -- The Lady Railsplitters recorded their highest attack percentage in a match since 2013 in a 3-0 drubbing of the Mars Hill Lions in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action on Tuesday night at Stanford Arena in Mars Hill, N.C. Lincoln Memorial (19-4, 13-2 SAC) dominated the contest from start to finish, defeating Mars Hill (6-16, 5-10 SAC) by scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-17.

The Lady Railsplitters racked up 51 kills with only eight errors to finish with a season-high .384 attack percentage, which is the program's highest attack percentage since hitting .437 against Coker on November 1, 2013. It far exceeded Lincoln Memorial's previous season high of .330 against King during the opening weekend. That effort also represented just the fourth time the Lady Railsplitters have crossed the .300 threshold in a match since the start of the 2014 campaign.

Liz Brock (Lima, Ohio) led the way for the Lady Railsplitters with a match-high 12 kills on a .355 attacking clip. She also chipped in nine digs.
Tone Gill (Nashville, Tenn.) slammed down 11 kills with a .450 hitting percentage, while
Samantha Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) had eight kills without an error on 14 attempts, good for a .571 percentage.
Jamie Jehne (Hollywood, Fla.) pitched in seven kills without an error, while
Kiera Holland (Columbia, S.C.) contributed seven kills as well.

Abby Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) did a little bit of everything for the Lady Railsplitters, racking up 41 assists, 12 digs, four kills and two aces.
Erica Whiteaker (Kingston Springs, Tenn.) matched a game-high mark with 15 digs, while Holland chipped in eight scoops.

Mars Hill, who entered Tuesday's match as winners of five of its last six SAC matches, recorded 34 kills with 16 errors for a .155 attack percentage. The Lady Railsplitters produced 17 more digs than the Lions (61-44).

Rebecca Butler and Mary Kate Griffin paced Mars Hill with 10 kills apiece. Lauren Hochstetler was the only other Lion with more than five kills, finishing with six on a team-high 26 attempts. Sara Fahrenbrook had 31 assists, while Victoria Kaiser led the Lions and matched Whiteaker with 15 digs.

The Lady Railsplitters got off to a red-hot start in the opening set, producing 18 kills with only one error for a .386 clip. A kill by Holland followed by a
Lindsey Nartker (New Carlisle, Ohio) service ace made it 11-6 in favor of LMU. After Mars Hill cut the deficit to 11-8, Lincoln Memorial scored five unanswered points, paced by two kills from Brock, to take a 16-8 lead. The Lady Railsplitters' lead would never be less than five after that, as a kill by
Abby Cash clinched the 25-19 win.

The Lions assumed an 11-6 lead in the second set after a kill by Griffin, but the Lady Railsplitters dominated the next passage of play, ripping off a 10-1 run to establish a 16-12 lead. Gill had two kills for the Lady Railsplitters during that spurt. After that, the Lions were able to close the gap to three on three separate occasions. However, the Lady Railsplitters never bent and closed the set on a 4-1 run to take another 25-19 victory.

Neither team could gain control throughout the early portion of the third set, as the frame was knotted at 10-10 following a Griffin ace. However, the Lady Railsplitters slowly pulled ahead after that, using a pair of 3-0 spurts and a 4-0 flurry to build a 20-12 cushion. The Lions regained a bit of momentum and cut it to 22-16 late, but a kill by
Kaylee Stone (Chattanooga, Tenn.) tidied up the straight-set sweep with a 25-17 win. The Lady Railsplitters hit .471 in the final frame, logging a match-high 19 kills.

With the win, Lincoln Memorial sweeps the regular-season series from Mars Hill and improves to 24-8 all-time against the Lions. The Lady Railsplitters also extended their winning streak in the series to six.

Next up, the Lady Railsplitters welcome the 10-time defending SAC champion Wingate Bulldogs to Mary Mars Gymnasium on Friday for a battle between the first -and second-place teams in the league. That match gets underway at 7 p.m. in Harrogate. Live stats and video links are available at www.LMURailsplitters.com.
