NEWBERRY, S.C. -- The Railsplitter tennis team (1-5, 0-2 SAC) fell to Newberry (13-1, 6-0 SAC) by a 6-3 margin Saturday afternoon.
Newberry took all three doubles flights, winning the first flight 8-3 and the second 8-5. No. 3 doubles saw LMU's
Joshua Coulthard and
David Segarra fall to Newberry's Logan Atkins and Richard Zeh 8-6.
In singles play, LMU picked up wins at No. 2, 3 and 5 singles. At No. 2, Coulthard defeated Fernando Tous 7-5, 1-6, 6-4.
Joshua Peress won over Jordan Monosky 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 singles while at No. 5 Segarra overcame Angel Pizarro 6-4, 6-2. At No. 6, LMU's
Guilherme Rocha lost a close one to Atkins 9-7.
LMU will play another SAC match at Queens tomorrow. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
