HARROGATE, Tenn. -- The Railsplitter tennis team (6-7, 4-4 SAC) won their fifth match in a row as they defeated Lenoir-Rhyne (4-9, 1-5 SAC) 7-2 in a South Atlantic Conference match Tuesday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Complex.

In doubles play Joshua Coulthard/Moritz Hoerner earned a hard-fought 9-7 win over Patrick Bauer/Shane O'Dea at No. 1 while Pepe Batalla/Joshua Peress bested Matthew Ledford/Jordan Lawson 8-4 at No. 2. At No. 3 David Segarra/Guilherme Rocha won a close one over Alex Crespo Sanchez/Tomas Hons 8-6.

In singles action LMU won at No. 3,4,5 and 6 singles to claim the victory. At No. 3 Batalla won over O'Dea 6-0, 6-3 while at No. 4 Peress improved to 13-2 overall on the season with his 6-3, 6-1 win over Filip Dobrosavljevic. At No. 5 Segarra moved to 6-1 in SAC play (11-1 overall) with his 7-5, 601 win over Crespo Sanchez while at No. 6 Carlos Zunino defeated the Bears' Ledford 6-3, 6-2.

LMU travels to Salisbury, North Carolina tomorrow to complete their match vs. Catawba that was halted due to weather a few weeks ago.
