GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Railsplitter tennis team (3-7) picked up their third win of the season as they defeated Georgetown College (1-7) 6-3 Monday afternoon at the Lackey Tennis Center.
LMU had two wins in doubles play. At No. 2, 2.
Pepe Batalla and
Joshua Peress defeated Daniel Orr and Ryan Simms 8-5 while
David Segarra and
Guilherme Rocha got by Austin Colliver and Kaushik Kailish 9-8 (9-7) at No. 3.
The Railsplitters then picked up wins at No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 singles to pick up the match victory.
At No. 3, Batalla won over Cole McCreary 6-1, 6-4 and Peress cruised to the 6-1, 6-1 win over GC's Ryan Simms at No. 4.Segarra defeated Colliver 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5 while at No. 6 Rocha easily handled A.J. Berk 6-1, 6-1.
LMU hosts Coker Thursday at 2 p.m. at the LMU Tennis Complex.
