HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Lady Railsplitters (6-7, 1-6 SAC) endured their fourth 1-0 loss of the season on Saturday as the Coker Cobras (2-8-1, 1-6 SAC) snapped a seven-game losing streak on a 55th-minute goal by Autumn Fetterolf in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action at the Coker Athletic Field.
Fetterolf's goal not only helped Coker end its seven-game skid, but gave the Cobras their first goal since a 2-1 double-overtime loss to Francis Marion on September 16, thereby concluding a nearly 600-minute scoreless streak.
Fetterolf tallied her first goal of the year and the Cobras' first SAC goal of the season directly off of a free kick to continue Lincoln Memorial's woes defending set pieces.
The short-handed Lady Railsplitters were outshot 16-4, including a 6-1 edge in shots on goal.
Jacquelyn Christoph tallied Lincoln Memorial's one and only shot on goal in the 76th minute, but it was saved by Coker's Shelby Middleton to preserve the shutout.
Palisa Chipendo was the only LMU player with multiple shot attempts, finishing with two. Grayson Chappell led Coker with six shots, while Skylar Davis had three with two shots on goal.
Brooke Taylor made six saves in the match, including four in the first half alone.
