FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. -- The LMU men's tennis team picked up their first dual match win of the season as they bested the Emmanuel College Lions 6-3 Thursday evening.

The Railsplitters took two of the three doubles flights as Joshua Peress and David Segarra defeated EC's Tom Jarry and Noah Johansen 8-7 at the No. 1 flight while Xavier Marti and Carlos Zunino picked up the No. 3 doubles flight win over Lucas Pereira and Jorge Canadas by an 8-7 margin.

In singles play, LMU won at flights 2-4 to capture the 6-3 win. Peress defeated Johansen 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 while at No. 3 Segarra won over Juan Carlos Romero 6-1, 7-5. At No. 4 Constantin Ernstberger pulled out the three set 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 win over Lucas Sasaki while Moritz Hoerner also needed three sets to eke out the 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Canadas.

The next scheduled match for the Railsplitters is the spring opener against the University of the Cumberlands on Feb. 3.
