Railsplitters blast Bellarmine 9-0 Sunday evening, remain undefeated at 3-0

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Railsplitter tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season as they swept Bellarmine 9-0 Sunday evening in the LMU Indoor Tennis Facility.

LMU picked up wins in all three doubles matches in less than 25 minutes. Xavier Marti and Iker Tomas Moure got things started with their 8-1 win on court three over Robert Naville and L.J. Allara. David Segarra and Joshua Peress won 8-2 on court one over Matthew Momper and Sam Rueff while on court two Jake Tuchmann and Constantin Ernstberger bested Nick Johnson and Andrew Jones by an 8-2 margin,

Tomas Moure picked up the first win in singles play on court five as he won over Vladimir Danicic 6-0, 6-2 while over on court four Moritz Hoerner defeated BU's Nick Johnson 6-1, 6-1. Joshua Peress, who yesterday moved into second place on the LMU career singles wins list and now has 53 career wins, coasted by Rueff 6-0, 6-3 on court one. Ernstberger won over Jones on court three 6-4, 6-2 while on court six Carlos Zunino defeated Naville 6-3, 7-6. Segarra needed a tiebreaker set to overcome Momper on court two as he eked out the 3-6, 6-2, 10-6 win.

LMU will host a pair of matches next weekend. First up is Cumberland University next Saturday at 8 a.m., followed by Union College Sunday at 1 p.m.
