WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The LMU men's tennis team improved to 3-1 the season with the 7-2 victory over the University of the Cumberlands Tuesday afternoon.

LMU took two of the three doubles flights to take a 2-1 lead. The duo of David Segarra (Sabadell, Spain) and Pepe Batalla (Barcelona, Spain) blanked Igor Golubovic and Hugo Retotillo 8-3 at No. 2 while Jake Tuchmann (Kennesaw, Ga.) and Carlos Zunino (Samborondón, Ecuador) defeated the Patriots' Luis Westrick and Tanishq Mahendu 8-4 at the No. 3 flight.

In singles, Marti defeated Couto 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2, Peress bested Westrick 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 3 flight while at No. 4 Batalla won over Mahandu 2-6, 6-4, 10-7. At No. 5 Segarra won over Wilson 6-3, 6-4 and Moritz Hoerner had a close match with Dev Sivam before pulling out the 6-3, 2-6, 11-9 win at No. 6.

LMU will host Union College Thursday at 2 p.m. in the LMU Tennis Complex.
