DAYTON, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University men's volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with an easy-breezy 3-0 win over the Bryan Lions (2-11) on Wednesday night in Dayton, Tennessee. The Railsplitters complete the inaugural regular-season slate with a 10-15 overall record.
The Railsplitters hit .390 as a team, amassing 39 kills with only nine errors, which was just three shy of the team's season-low mark. Bryan, by contrast, hit just .015 as a team with only 17 kills and 16 errors.
Evan Cory led Lincoln Memorial with 13 kills on a sizzling .478 clip to go along with three blocks and four digs.
Marcus Molina and
Pedro Carvalho added six kills apiece, while
NyJaee Washington and
Randy Rivera had five apiece.
Ryan Iskandar finished with 30 assists, four kills and nine digs, while
Nico Triana led the Railsplitters with 10 digs and four service aces.
Nathaniel Shadoan and Will Stokes led Bryan with six kills apiece, combining for 12 of the team's 17 kills. Martin Livingston (3) and Isaac Mullett (2) were the only other Lions with a kill in the contest. Nick Scully led Bryan with 14 assists, while four different players finished with six digs.
The Railsplitters won the match by scores of 25-21, 25-12 and 25-17 to complete the season sweep of Bryan, who Lincoln Memorial beat in four sets on March 7 at Mary Mars Gym.
The Railsplitters travel to Hartsville, South Carolina next weekend for the IVA Tournament, which gets underway on April 7 at Coker College.
