HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU men's tennis team continued their winning ways in the South Atlantic Conference with the 9-0 sweep over Mars Hill Wednesday at the LMU Tennis Complex.

LMU improves to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the SAC with the victory.

In doubles, Joshua Coulthard (Staindrop, England)/Jake Tuchmann (Kennesaw, GA) defeated Mars Hill's Alberto Ortiz/Ben Reid 9-3 at No. 1 while at No. 2 Xavier Marti (Tortosa, Spain)/Joshua Peress (Montreal, Quebec) coasted by Carlos Suares Riesco/Fernando Neto 8-2. At No. 3 Pepe Batalla (Barcelona, Spain)/David Segarra (Sabadell, Spain) bested Blake Covington/Pedro Pinassi (MHU) 8-3

In singles play, Marti defeated Ortiz 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 while Peress improved to 7-2 on the season and 37-9 for his career with the 6-3, 6-4 win over Reid at No. 2. Batalla won his 34th career match and stayed a perfect 9-0 overall and 4-0 in the SAC with the 6-3, 6-2 win over Suares Riesco at No. 3. At No. 4, Segarra, the reigning SAC Player of the Week, also improved to 9-0 overall and 4-0 in the SAC with the 6-3, 7-6 win over Pinassi. Moritz Hoerner (Erlangen, Germany) won over Neto at No. 5 8-4 while at No. 6 Carlos Zunino (Samborondon, Ecuador) bested Covington 8-1.

LMU will play at Union College tomorrow at 2 p.m.
