BARBOURVILLE, KY – The LMU men's tennis team improved to 8-2 on the season with the 7-2 win at Union College Thursday afternoon.

In doubles, LMU swept to take a 3-0 lead. Joshua Coulthard (Staindrop, England)/Jake Tuchmann (Kennesaw, GA) defeated Srdjan Trosic/Ewan McKinnie 9-7 at No. 1, Xavier Marti (Tortosa, Spain)/Joshua Peress (Montreal, Quebec) won over Egil Brudvik/Borna Bartolovic 8-3 and at No. 3 Pepe Batalla (Barcelona, Spain)/David Segarra (Sabadell, Spain) needed a tiebreaker to get by Tiago Gil/Ethan Wright 9-8 (8-4).

In singles play, Peress defeated Bartolovic 6-0, 0-6, 6-2 at No. 2, Batalla needed three sets to get by Brudvik 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 3 and Segarra cruised by McKinnie 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4. At No. 5, Moritz Hoerner (Erlangen, Germany) won over Tiago Gil 6-3, 6-3.

LMU will play at Carson-Newman Tuesday afternoon.
