Quick Hits

- Lincoln Memorial suffered its second straight 1-0 loss on Wednesday night, as the Tusculum Pioneers scored the lone goal of the match by converting a penalty kick in the 47th minute at Pioneer Field in Greeneville, Tenn. to send the Lady Railsplitters to 0-1 in SAC play.

- The Lady Railsplitters came up empty handed on the offensive end for the second straight match despite producing more quality scoring chances. Lincoln Memorial and Tusculum had 13 shots apiece, but the Lady Railsplitters had seven shots on goal, including six in the second half alone. The Pioneers accounted for just one shot over the final 27 minutes of regulation.

- Lincoln Memorial has lost back-to-back 1-0 decisions for the first time since losing to both Anderson and Tusculum by that score in consecutive contests in 2013. The Lady Railsplitters are now looking to avoid falling to 0-2 in the SAC for the first time since joining the league in 2007.

- The Lady Railsplitters have yet to allow multiple goals in a single match this season, ranking fourth in the SAC with a stingy 0.8 goals against average. Junior goalkeeper Brooke Taylor has been a big part of that, ranking second in the league and 45th in the nation with an .882 save percentage. Her six saves per game is ranked third in the SAC.

- Lincoln Memorial remains among the league leaders in shots on goal percentage, ranking fourth with a .586 clip. That number would break the 2005 team's .577 shots on goal percentage to establish a new program record.

- Junior Caroline Souza and freshman Mariana Diaz have accounted for 12 of the team's 21 points this season. Souza leads the way with seven points on three goals and an assist, while Diaz has five points with two goals and an assist.

- Queens will also be looking to pick up its first SAC win after taking a 2-0 loss at Wingate on Wednesday. The Bulldogs scored in the 12th and 58th minutes and allowed just three second-half shot attempts to power that victory.

- That represented the Royals' first loss of the season, as Queens opened the season by barnstorming Young Harris 5-1, drawing with Tampa 1-1 and beating Georgia College 2-0. Lincoln Memorial and Queens share one common opponent in Young Harris, who toppled the Lady Railsplitters 1-0 last weekend.

- The Royals are ranked third in the SAC in scoring with an average of 2.00 goals per match. Queens accounts for a hair over 15 shots per contest and lands 55.7 percent of those shots on target.

- Senior forward Alana Jefferson leads the Royals with three goals and an assist on 14 shots and 10 shots on goal, while sophomore forward Thea Mallett has added two goals on just three shots on goal. Junior forward Charlotte Ring has pitched in a goal and an assist while ranking second on the team with 12 shots. Leanne Bryant and Jordan Winters have a goal apiece.

- Junior goalie Rachel Quest has played every second for the Royals this season, compiling a 0.95 goals against average and an .826 save percentage. She has a pair of wins with a shutout on her resume.

- Queens is allowing a hair over one goal per match, ranking seventh in the SAC with a 1.073 goals against average. The Royals have been most vulnerable in the first half, when they have conceded three of their four goals allowed this season.

Head-to-Head

The Lady Railsplitters are looking to snap a three-game winless streak against Queens and pick up their first win in the series since a 2-0 triumph in 2013. The Royals beat Lincoln Memorial 3-1 last season in Charlotte, but the two meetings prior to that finished in scoreless draws. The two teams have combined for a mere six goals in four all-time matchups.
