This Week in LMU Athletics

Women's Soccer – 8-3, 4-2 SAC
 
The Lady Railsplitters pushed their season-long winning streak to three, notched their first eight-win season since the 2014 campaign and won at Lenoir-Rhyne for the first time since 2007 with a 2-1 victory over the Bears on Saturday evening. With its second straight signature win, Lincoln Memorial maintained sole possession of fifth place in the South Atlantic Conference standings. 
 
This week, the Lady Railsplitters return to the LMU Soccer Complex to host Tusculum on Wednesday and Coker on Saturday for the second-to-last week of the regular season.

Men's Soccer – 6-3-2, 3-2-1 SAC
 
The Railsplitters dominated North Georgia 4-2 to pick up their third straight victory on Wednesday at the LMU Soccer Complex. On Saturday, Lincoln Memorial looked primed to make it four straight wins when Matteo Bufalo gave the Railsplitters a 2-1 lead over Lenoir-Rhyne in the 82nd minute, but the Bears snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with goals in the 86th and 88th minutes. 
 
That loss dropped the Railsplitters into a tie for fifth place in the SAC standings. This week, LMU is back home for conference matches against Tusculum on Wednesday and Coker on Saturday.

Women's Volleyball – 12-6, 8-4 SAC
 
The Lady Railsplitters produced a perfect 3-0 week, beating rival Carson-Newman in four sets on Tuesday at Mary Mars Gym before going on the road to take a 3-1 decision at Queens and a straight-set win at Catawba. Lincoln Memorial has now won four of its last five matches and is tied for third place in the SAC standings. 
 
Three more matches are on tap for Lincoln Memorial this week. The Lady Railsplitters head to Tusculum on Tuesday and return to Mars Gym over the weekend to host Newberry and Anderson.

Men's Golf
 
Coming off a win at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate, the Railsplitters will face one of their toughest challenges of the season this week at the Copperhead Championship. Eleven teams ranked in the top-25, including each of the nation's top-seven teams, are set to compete in the 54-hole event at Innisbrook Resort.

Women's Golf
 
After tying for fourth two weeks ago at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate, the Lady Railsplitters return to the North Georgia-hosted LeeAnn Noble Memorial for the third consecutive year this week. The 36-hole event is being played at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Ga.

Men's and Women's Cross Country 
 
After nearly a month off, the cross country teams are back in action this weekend when they conclude the regular-season schedule at the Sand Shark Cross Country Invitational in Hardeeville, S.C. The squads were last in action on September 29 at the UNG Invitational, where the Railsplitters took sixth and the Lady Railsplitters finished in 12th.

Men's Bowling
 
With Brandon St. Onge sidelined by illness, the Railsplitters' run of four straight top-three finishes ended this weekend with a 10th-place performance at the Orange & Black Tournament in Beavercreek, Ohio. LMU missed out on qualifying for match play by just 39 pins. 
 
The Railsplitters will now get their first extended break of the season and won't return to action until heading to Smyrna, Ga., for the Tier I Brunswick Southern Intercollegiate on November 3.
