HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team returns to Tex Turner Arena on Saturday afternoon to begin a four-game homestand with a South Atlantic Conference clash against the Wingate Bulldogs.

Notes on the Bulldogs
- Wingate is returning to action after a 14-day layoff. The Bulldogs last played on December 1, when they handed Carson-Newman an 82-62 loss in Wingate, N.C. Prior to that, they kicked off SAC play with a 77-68 win at Coker.
- The Bulldogs lost four of their first six games to start the 2018-19 season, but only one of those losses – an 87-73 setback at Emmanuel – was decided by more than seven points.
- Wingate is also responsible for one of the better wins in the Southeast Region so far this season, as they opened the 2018-19 campaign with a 104-87 win over 8-2 Belmont Abbey.
- Junior guard Marco Haskins has been one of the most impactful players in the South Atlantic Conference. He ranks second in the league in scoring and rebounding with 22.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. In addition to that, he has buried 32 three-pointers on a SAC-high 57.1 percent clip. Haskins has scored 20-plus points in seven of his eight appearances this season.
- Haskins is supported offensively by freshman Joshua Strozier and junior Jakob Dawkins. Strozier is contributing 13.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the field, while Dawkins is adding 11.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, though he is shooting a mere 34 percent.
- Frankie Johnson and Emarius Logan are adding 9.5 and 8.3 points per game, respectively. Johnson, a transfer from The Citadel, leads the SAC in steals with 23 and ranks third in assists with 53.
- Wingate is playing at a much faster pace than in recent years, as the Bulldogs average the second-most shot attempts per game in the SAC with 68.9. However, they are ranked seventh in the league in scoring with 82.3 points per game and 10th in field-goal percentage with a 41.6 percent clip.
- The Bulldogs' offensive numbers have been enhanced by a league-leading 11.6 three-pointers per game on a 40.4 percent mark.
- Defensively, Wingate is holding opponents to 77.5 points per game on 41.7 percent shooting.
- The Bulldogs are 1-3 on the road this season compared to 3-1 at home. Wingate is averaging a full 20 points less on the road, scoring 72.3 compared to 92.3 on its home court.
- Wingate commits the second-fewest turnovers per game in the SAC with 12.5. On top of that, the Bulldogs are third in the league with 8.6 steals per contest.
Last Time Out
Powered by some clutch, late-game heroics, the Railsplitters pulled out a wild 102-101 double-overtime victory at Anderson on Wednesday night.
The game featured an incredible 15 ties and 15 lead changes as Lincoln Memorial overcame a two-point deficit with less than 30 seconds left in regulation, a two-point deficit with less than 15 seconds left in the first overtime and another one-point deficit with less than 10 seconds left in double overtime to beat Anderson for the 12th straight time.
Rhondi Hackett helped the Railsplitters escape with the victory, as he rebounded
Cornelius Taylor's game-winning attempt and scored the go-ahead bucket with .4 seconds left in the second overtime period.
Six players had double figures for Lincoln Memorial. Taylor led that effort with 23 points and seven rebounds.
Kamaran Calhoun and
Courvoisier McCauley added 16 points apiece, with that mark setting a new career-high for McCauley, while
Alex Dahling and
Anthony Brown had 15 points apiece.
Cameron Henry chipped in 10 points and six rebounds.
In the first double-overtime game for the Railsplitters since early in the 2015-16 season, Lincoln Memorial moved to 2-3 on the road while bouncing back from last Saturday's 28-point loss at Queens.
Comforts of Home
Saturday starts a four-game homestand for the Railsplitters, who will not hit the road again until a trip to Catawba on January 12.
Lincoln Memorial has been utterly dominant on its home court this season with a 3-0 mark that includes a 108-58 win over Paine, a 90-68 thrashing of Carson-Newman and a 99-72 beatdown of Coker.
The Railsplitters are averaging 99.0 points per game on 49.3 percent shooting and a 44.2 percent mark from three at home.
Lincoln Memorial has won 25 consecutive regular-season games at Tex Turner Arena dating back to their last regular-season home loss on December 17, 2016 in a 107-102 defeat at the hands of Newberry. That was also LMU's last regular-season home loss against a SAC opponent.

- Following Wednesday's 23-point outburst, Taylor has reached the 20-point threshold in five of his nine appearances this season. He is ranked fourth in the SAC in scoring with 20.0 points per game and has hit the third-most three-pointers in the league with 32.

Anthony Brown has put up four double-doubles across his nine outings. He is ranked 12th in the SAC in rebounding with 6.3 per game and eighth in total assists with 33.
- Calhoun has hit double figures in four of his last five appearances and surpassed 15 points in each of his last two outings. He is fourth in the SAC in field-goal percentage with a 63.6 percent mark.
- The Railsplitters lead the SAC in defensive rebounds per game with 33.3, total rebounds per game with 45.6, blocks per game with 4.8 and field-goal attempts per game with 69.3. Lincoln Memorial is also second in the league in points per game with 85.6, but rank ninth in field-goal percentage at 42.9.
- Wingate is one of only three teams left without a SAC loss this season along with 3-0 Queens and 2-0 Catawba.
