WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The LMU women's lacrosse team fell to 0-1 in the South Atlantic Conference and 3-2 overall as fifteenth-ranked Queens used a quick start to coast to the 21-3 win Saturday afternoon.
The Royals (2-6, 1-0 SAC) outscored LMU 13-3 in the first half and held the Lady Railsplitters scoreless in the second. They were led by four goals from Katie Wardle and Sydney Lear, while Ally Blood and Allison Conn each chipped in three goals. Blood also notched three assists for the game. Goalies Chase Brokaw and Sara Mitrecic split time in the cage, with each grabbing two saves each.

Autumn Beddington had LMU's lone assist. Goalie
Shannon Novak had eight saves and
Micayla Starnes had five.
Queens scored less than a minute into the game to take the early lead. Moss answered back with a free position goal at the 28:35 mark to tie the game. The Royals would then score four unanswered goals over the next eight minutes before Beddington found Buechner open just outside the eight meter fan and Buechner's shot was good. Queens would then tack on eight more goals before Kelly found the back of the net with 44 seconds left in the half to cut the score to 13-3 at the intermission.
The Royals would then tack on eight goals in the second half while hold LMU scoreless to cruise to the 21-3 win.
