Lady Railsplitters travel to Mars Hill to face the Lions for the first time Wednesday evening

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU women's lacrosse team will seek to even up their South Atlantic Conference record when they take on Mars Hill University for the first time Wednesday evening at Meares Stadium.

LMU enters with a 3-2 overall record and a 0-1 SAC record after falling to 15th ranked Queens Saturday in the SAC opener.

Mars Hill, who are in their first year of competition, is 2-4 and 0-1 in the SAC after falling to Wingate in their first-ever SAC contest Saturday. Their wins have come over Brevard and Montevallo.

The Lions are led by freshman Olivia Hokanson's 24 goals, which ranks her fourth in the SAC. She also leads the team in ground balls (15), draws won (32), and points (26). Fellow freshman Kiersten Foust has 13 goals and an assist in addition to 13 ground balls. Sophomore Molly Tobias has eight goals, eight assists and 13 ground balls. Alexandria Holleran has been the Lions' sole goalie this season, and the freshman has 65 saves while giving up 102 goals on the season. As a team, the Lions are scoring 9.17 goals a game while giving up 11.00 goals a game.

LMU is led by Amara Moss' 16 goals and 29 draws won. Kennedy Buechner and Casey Kelly have 15 goals each while Kelly also has won 26 draws. Buechner and Jacquelin Turner have five assists each and Zoe Zervos leads the team with 15 ground balls. Shannon Novak is among the SAC leaders in goalie statistics as she ranks first in goals allowed (50), second in save percentage (47.4%) and wins (3), and fourth in goals against average (14.29).

As a team, the Lady Railsplitters lead the SAC in both shooting percentage (51.2%), shots on goal percentage (84.3), and goals against/allowed (67). They are second in goals per game (12.40), draw controls per game (13.60), clears (74-109), and save percentage (46.0%).

Following Wednesday's game, LMU will return home to host Catawba this Saturday.
