HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University men's volleyball team (9-11) concludes its home schedule Tuesday night with a match against Bluefield (6-14). The Railsplitters dropped five-set heartbreakers to Queens and Belmont Abbey over the weekend while Bluefield lost in straight sets to Warner on Saturday.

- Lincoln Memorial fell to Queens in five sets (25-23, 22-25, 23-25, 25-18, 12-15) Friday night at the Levine Center.
Evan Cory led all players with 18 kills, but the Railsplitters committed a season-high 29 attack errors and hit .107. Cory added 12 digs and four blocks.
Pedro Carvalho pitched in nine kills and a match-high six blocks.
AJ Risavy dished out 36 assists.
- For the second time in less than 24 hours, LMU fell in five sets on the road. This time, the Railsplitters were outlasted by Belmont Abbey by set scores of 20-25, 18-25, 25-21, 25-18 and 10-15. Cory (16) and
Joshua Riblett (14) combined for 30 of Lincoln Memorial's 46 kills while the Crusaders totaled 60 as a team. Cory added 10 digs and seven block assists. Carvalho led all players with 10 total blocks. Risavy had a career-high 14 digs and dished out 38 assists.
- Carvalho is the national leader with 1.486 blocks per set and 24 solo blocks. He has totaled 53 blocks and averaged 1.89 per set over his past six matches.
- The Railsplitters are second nationally in blocks per set with 2.82. This has helped the team hold opponents to the fourth-lowest hitting percentage at .201.
- Cory has recorded a double-digit kill total in 14 of 20 matches and leads the team with 254 kills, 3.39 kills per set (25
th nationally) and 28 service aces. The sophomore from Metairie, Louisiana has led or been tied for the team lead in kills in 18 of 20 matches. His .301 hitting percentage ranks 39
th nationally.
- Risavy is the only other Railsplitter besides Carvalho to start all 20 matches and appear in all 75 sets played. The freshman setter has dished out 633 assists and averages 8.44 per set (26
th nationally).
- Lincoln Memorial is 8-1 on the season at Mary Mars Gymnasium and 16-6 all-time. Only two home matches have extended beyond three sets this season. The Railsplitters are 1-10 playing away from Harrogate on the year and 3-22 in the program's brief history.
- The team has improved its attack percentage from .201 in its inaugural year to .208. Kills per set are down from 10.21 to 10.03. Digs per set are also down from 8.80 to 8.08. Blocks per set have increased dramatically from 1.98 to 2.85.
Notes on Bluefield:
- The Rams have lost two straight and eight of their past nine. The team's only win in that span was a four-set triumph at Belmont bey on March 17.
- Twelve of Bluefield's 14 losses have been straight-set sweeps.
- Bluefield is hitting just .101 as a team while opponents have hit .209. Opponents have racked up more kills (701-575), service aces (109-89), digs (597-592). Opponents have accumulated 29 solo blocks and 183 block assists while Bluefield has 28 solo blocks and 84 block assists.
- Alberto Chiaparini had 12 kills in the Rams' 3-0 loss to Warner. He has 220 of the team's 575 kills on the season and averages 3.38 kills per set at a .245 clip. Chiaparini also leads the team with 20 service aces and 104 digs.
- No other Ram has tallied 100 kills. Lesharo Clark is second with 99 and 1.62 per set but has hit just .013.
- Bluefield is 2-5 at home, 2-9 on the road and 2-0 at neutral sites. Three of its wins have come over Brewton-Parker, a first-year program that finished 0-23 and only won one set all season.
