HARROGATE, Tenn. – After concluding the home portion of its regular-season schedule with a 3-0 sweep of Bluefield Tuesday night at Mary Mars Gymnasium, the Lincoln Memorial University men's volleyball team (10-11) will embark on four road matches to conclude its regular season beginning this weekend with a trip through West Virginia to face Alderson Broaddus (3-15) on Friday night and Charleston (11-8) Saturday afternoon.
LMU topped Alderson Broaddus in straight sets at Mary Mars Gymnasium on January 19 to pick up its first win of the year. The Railsplitters are 2-1 all-time against the Battlers with the home team winning each matchup. Charleston won both meetings in Harrogate in 2017.

- The Railsplitters are second nationally in blocks per set with 2.80. This has helped the team hold opponents to the third-lowest hitting percentage at .197.
- Cory has recorded a double-digit kill total in 15 of 21 matches and leads the team with 265 kills, 3.40 kills per set (24
th nationally) and 30 service aces. The sophomore from Metairie, Louisiana has led or been tied for the team lead in kills in 19 of 21 matches. His .308 hitting percentage ranks 34
th nationally.
- Risavy is the only other Railsplitter besides Carvalho to start all 20 matches and appear in all 75 sets played. The freshman setter has dished out 660 assists and averages 8.46 per set (27
th nationally).
- Lincoln Memorial finished 9-1 on the season at Mary Mars Gymnasium and is 17-6 all-time. The Railsplitters are 1-10 playing away from Harrogate on the year and 3-22 in the program's brief history.
- The team has improved its attack percentage from .201 in its inaugural year to .214. Kills per set are down from 10.21 to 10.10. Digs per set are also down from 8.80 to 8.15. Blocks per set have increased dramatically from 1.98 to 2.80.
Notes on Alderson Broaddus:
- The Battlers will be playing just their second home match of the year after opening with 17 of 18 away from Rex Pyles Arena. The lone home match was a five-set win over Queens on February 2.
- Alderson Broaddus will not play on the road the rest of the season. The team concludes its regular season with four home matches then will host the IVA Championships.
- The Battlers have lost five straight and seven of eight since the home win over Queens. The team's only win in that span was another victory over the Royals in Charlotte.
- Alderson Broaddus most recently lost in straight sets (8-25, 14-25, 24-26) at Harvard on March 24. Harvard hit .253 in the match and led in kills 34-23. The Battlers finished with a .048 hitting percentage.
- Francisco Cabrera led the Battlers with seven kills. The senior has more than twice as many kills as anyone else on the team with 210.
- Jose Ramirez (103) is the only other Battler with more than 100 kills.
- Alderson Broaddus is hitting .120 as a team while opponents hit at a .245 clip. Opponents also lead 11.54-9.29 in kills per set, 1.72-0.79 in service aces per set, 2.10-1.70 in blocks per set and 9.40-8.85 in digs per set.
Notes on Charleston:
- The Golden Eagles have lost four straight—all 3-0 sweeps—with two losses each to New Jersey Institute of Technology and George Mason.
- Since starting the season 3-0 in EIVA play, Charleston has dropped its last seven conference matches. The past six have been straight-set sweeps.
- Charleston played George Mason tough (18-25, 26-28, 18-25 and 15-25, 27-29, 21-25) and held late leads in two of the three sets in both matches.
- Ryan Santos led the Golden Eagles with 13 kills and hit .611 in the first George Mason match. Brandon Greenway pitched in nine kills at a .250 clip. The rest of the team combined for eight kills and 14 attack errors.
- Kills were much more evenly distributed in the second match as six Golden Eagles registered between three and six kills. Max Senica led the team with six kills while Eugene Stuart added five.
- Charleston is hitting just .176 as a team. Only one of the four players with at least 100 kills—Stuart at .306—has a hitting percentage above .200.
- Senica leads Charleston with 168 kills and 2.94 kills per set. Santos isn't far behind at 155 kills and 2.88 per set.
