HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU women's lacrosse team will honor the last three members of their inaugural team Saturday when they host Newberry for Senior Day at the LMU Lacrosse Complex. Prior to the game,
Shannon Novak,
Jessie Graham,
Autumn Beddington and two-year player
Julia Koogler will be recognized.
The first three are the last remaining members from LMU's inaugural women's lacrosse team in 2015, while Koogler joined the team last year after a stint on the women's soccer team.
Graham has played in 34 games, scoring five goals and dishing out three assists while grabbing 20 ground balls.
Beddington has made 50 appearances to date and scored 20 goals, had one assist, 46 ground balls and won 31 draws.
Novak has literally written the LMU record book in goalkeeping. She has started in 54 of the 55 games the program has played and spent 2,958 minutes in cage. She has 519 career saves, a .422 save percentage, and a goals-against average of 14.43 in addition to 194 ground balls and 42 caused turnovers.
Currently, Novak ranks second in the SAC in save percentage (47.5%), third in both goals against (115) and goals-against average (12.78), and fifth in total saves (104).
Koogler has played in seven games on defense and picked up four ground balls.
Amara Moss currently leads the team in goals with 41 (6
th-most in the SAC) and is tied with
Casey Kelly for points with 47. Moss currently has 99 career goals and will become LMU's first career 100 goal scorer with her next goal. The junior also leads the team in draw controls with 72, ranking her third in the SAC in that category.
Kelly leads the team in assists with 15 and also has 32 goals.
Kennedy Buechner has 33 goals and 11 assists while
Erin DePaul has 29 goals.
Zoe Zervos leads the team in caused turnovers (24) and ground balls (42).
The team ranks in the top three in the SAC in goals (160), shots on goal percentage (80.1%), draw controls (176), draw controls per game (13.54), goals against (156), goals-against average (12.00), saves (135), and save percentage (46.4).
LMU is currently 6-7 overall and 1-5 in South Atlantic Conference play while the Wolves are 3-11 and 1-4 in the SAC.
Rachel Dillon leads the team with 38 goals, 46 draws won and 41 ground balls, while Sophie Moore has 25 and Alexis Kahler has chipped in 18 goals. Brandy Bowman has spent 840 minutes in cage, with 158 saves and 251 goals allowed.
As a team, NC leads the SAC in shots per game (21.2) and free percentage goals-shots (18-40). They are also second in turnovers with 292.
The Wolves lead the all-time series 2-1.
In their last meeting in Harrogate the Wolves escaped with a 10-9 win as LMU went ice cold from the field in the second half and saw a 9-6 lead evaporate. LMU won the meeting last season in Newberry 15-9 as they outscored the Wolves 10-3 in the first half and coasted to the win.
