HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU women's lacrosse team travels to league-leading Lenoir-Rhyne in search of history Saturday afternoon as with a win, they would set a new program record for wins in a season.
LMU is currently 6-5 overall and 1-3 in South Atlantic Conference play. Lenoir Rhyne is 5-7 and 5-0 in conference games.
The Bears are led by Gabby Sousa's 40 goals and 48 points, with Rachel Elmore chipping in 31 goals, 23 ground balls and 72 draws won. Cathleen Gaffney leads the team with 24 assists. Goalie Ines Flueck, one of the top goalies in the SAC, has 82 saves and a goals against average of 11.92.
L-R leads the SAC in shots per game and are second in goals against average.
The Lady Railsplitters are led by
Amara Moss, who has 36 goals following a record-tying 8 goal performance against Shorter on Tuesday. Moss also leads the team in draws won with 60.
Kennedy Buechner has 31 goals while
Casey Kelly has 30 goals and 15 assists.
Zoe Zervos leads the team in ground balls with 35 and goalie
Shannon Novak has 88 saves and a goals against average of 12.43.
LMU leads the SAC in shooting percentage (51.9) and fewest goals against (128). They are second in goals per game (13.45), shots on goal percentage (82.5), and save percentage (48.2)
The Bears lead the all-time series 3-0.
