HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU women's tennis team won their first dual-match of the season as they outlasted Emmanuel 4-3 Saturday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Complex.
LMU picked up the team point in doubles with wins at the no. 2 and 3 flights. At no. 2,
Julia Loos and
Julia Valls won over Pearllan Cipriano and Katharina Kiderlen 6-0 while
Kristin Vogel and
Johanna Delisse eked out a 7-6 win over Maria Raich and Victoria Silva.
The Lady Railsplitters then took wins at flights 2, 4, and 6 to capture the match.
Marta Pinol picked up her 44th career win with her 6-2, 6-1 win over Marta Rozados at no. 2. At no. 4, Loos defeated Raich 7-6, 6-0 while at no. 6
Claudia Rodriguez picked up her first career win in her debut match as she defeated Kiderlen 6-1, 6-3.
The team will now prepare for the ITA Southeast Regionals, which will be held September 27-30 in Sumter, South Carolina.
