Big Game Hunter Bags Two Against Wolves in 3-1 Victory

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Lincoln Memorial University men's soccer hosted Newberry College in a South Atlantic Conference contest at Union College on Sunday afternoon.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Graduate forward Aurochit Patnaik set up freshman midfielder Hunter Stroble to notch his first collegiate goal within the first three minutes of action against the Wolves to take an early 1-0 lead.
 
Newberry College's Troy Paul was able to even the score with a goal assisted by Vojin Manojlovic just four minutes later.
 
Stroble found himself tacking on another goal when assisted by senior forward Joseph Sefoi at the 43rd-minute mark of the first half.
 
Senior forward Phillip Wong was able to record his first goal of the season for the Railsplitters with an assist from junior midfielder Pedro da Silva to put the game away at 3-1 on the afternoon.
 
TEAM STATS:
The Railsplitters trailed the Wolves in shots (8-15), shots on goal (6-8) and corner kicks (6-1).
 
THE KEEPERS:
NBC – Leroy Zeller recorded three saves and allowed three goals against   
LMU – Robin Hermann contributed with seven saves and only one goal against on the afternoon. Hermann currently ranks second in save percentage (.819), third in the conference in saves (60), goals against (13) and goals-against average (1.04).
 
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:
After today's win against the Wolves, the Railsplitters push to a 11-0-2 record in head-to-head action dating back to September of 2007.   
 
UP NEXT!
The Railsplitters will hit the road and travel to Hartsville, South Carolina for another SAC contest at Coker University for a scheduled start at 3:30 PM on Saturday, Nov. 2.
