HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU women's tennis team celebrated Abraham Lincoln's 210th birthday by sweeping King University 7-0 in the LMU Indoor Tennis Facility.
LMU (4-1) only dropped one point in all the doubles flights as they picked up their first point of the match by winning all three.
Johanna Delisse and
Kristin Vogel at the no. 1 flight; and
Julia Loos and
Julia Valls at the no. 2 flight each won 6-0.
Kiersten Waugh and
Amanda Dahlstrom won at no. 3 6-1.
In singles, Delisse won at no. 1 6-1, 6-1, while at no. 3 Valls won 6-1, 6-0.
Marta Pinol then picked up the 6-0, 6-0 win at no. 2, followed shortly afterward by Loos' 6-0, 6-0 win at no. 4. Waugh then won the shortened no. 6 flight 8-1 and Vogel, who had started before LMU earned their fifth point and was thus able to play the complete match at flight five, won 6-0, 6-3.
LMU will host Young Harris next Monday at 1:00 p.m.
