HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU women's tennis team picked up win number five on the year as they overwhelmed Young Harris 7-0 Monday afternoon at the LMU Indoor Tennis Facility.
The Lady Railsplitters (5-1) started the match already ahead 2-0 as Young Harris has only four players active at the moment. They picked up their third point on the back of the 6-3 win by
Kiersten Waugh and
Amanda Dahlstrom over Carol Quevedo and Milica Dabic at no. 2 doubles and the 6-4 win by
Julia Valls and
Julia Loos at no. 1 over Oriana Labaqui and Ana Rodriguez.
In singles, Valls defeated Quevedo 6-1, 6-1 at no. 3, followed by
Marta Pinol's 6-0, 6-2 win at no. 2 over Rodriguez. At no. 1,
Johanna Delisse eked out the win over Labaqui in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 10-4. Then at no. 4 Loos swept Dabic 6-0, 6-0.
LMU will host East Tennessee State Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Indoor Tennis Facility.
