HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU women's tennis team picked up their sixth win of the season as they won 6-1 over future South Atlantic Conference opponent UVa-Wise Sunday afternoon at the LMU Indoor Tennis Facility.
The Lady Railsplitters won two of the three doubles flights to take the match point.
Kiersten Waugh and
Amanda Dahlstrom won 6-0 at no. 3 over Olivia Dishner and Lillian Morris, while
Julia Valls and
Julia Loos defeated Aya Melham and Grace Hall at no. 2 by a 6-1 margin. The Cavs' twin sister duo of Katya and Liza Akimenko defeated
Johanna Delisse and Kristen Vogel 6-4 at no. 1.
Marta Pinol picked up LMU's first singles point with her 49th career victory as she won over Katya Akimenko 6-1, 6-0 at no. 2. Valls then won at no. 3 over Melhem by a 6-0, 6-2 margin.
The Cavs then picked up their lone point of the match as Liza Akimenko defeated Delisse at no. 1 7-5, 6-2.
LMU then picked up the match-winning point as Loos won over Hall at no. 4 6-0, 6-0.
Kiersten Waugh then picked up the 8-1 win at no. 6 over Morris and Vogel defeated Dishner 6-0, 6-0 at no. 5 to close out the match.

LMU travels to Milledgeville, Georgia next weekend for a pair of matches. They face Georgia College Saturday at 2:00 pm and Augusta at 1:00 pm on Sunday.
