HARROGATE, Tenn. -- The LMU women's tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season as they downed the Union College Bulldogs 6-1 Sunday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Complex.
The Lady Railsplitters swept the doubles flights.
Julia Valls and
Julia Loos started things off with the 6-0 win over Christina Schoener and Mai Kitashita at no. 2, followed soon afterward by
Kiersten Waugh's and
Amanda Dahlstrom's 6-1 win over Alina Schweizer and Carla Delgado at no. 3. Kristen Vogel and
Johanna Delisse then claimed the 6-1 win at no. 1 over Ljiljana Pajcin and Isidora Petkovic at no. 1.
Delisse picked up LMU's first singles win as she was up 2-0 over Petkovic when Petkovic retired from the match. Valls soon afterward defeated Kitashita 6-1, 6-0 at no. 3.
Union picked up their only point of the match when Pajcin took the 6-3, 6-4 win over Pinol at the no. 2 flight.
Vogel then defeated Schweizer at the no. 5 flight 6-4, 6-2 and Loos bested Schoener in three sets 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 at no. 5 to claim the team match point. Waugh then went on to tin over Alba Rodenas 6-4, 6-2 at no. 6. Â
