SALISBURY, N.C. – The Railsplitters captured wins at the third doubles flight and at no. 1 and no. 6 singles, but Catawba took the rest of the flights to take the 5-2 South Atlantic Conference win over LMU Monday afternoon.
LMU falls to 6-3 overall and 0-1 in the SAC with the loss.
The Catawba Indians captured wins at the no. 1 and no. 2 doubles flights to take the match point, but
Iker Moure and
Moritz Hoerner won at the third spot over Adam Rocko and Vid Rados by a 7-6 margin with a 7-4 tiebreaker game.
LMU's singles victories came at the first spot, where
David Segarra picked up his 55th career victory with the 6-3, 6-1 win over Jack Joel; and at the sixth spot, where
Jake Tuchmann defeated Rados 6-3, 6-1.
The Railsplitters will continue SAC play when they host Carson-Newman Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the LMU Tennis Complex.
