In Tuesday's match versus King, Railsplitters vying to snap winless streak

HARROGATE, Tenn. — Winning its last three of four matches, the Lincoln Memorial University men's volleyball team hosts an opponent that has had the Railsplitters' number, defeating them five straight times since 2017 as the Tornado come into Mary Mars Gym for the third time.

-Earlier this season, the Railsplitters (12-7) had King (12-8) on the ropes, taking the home Tornado to the fifth set before ultimately dropping the match, 2-3, Feb. 5. Despite the loss, LMU won its first-ever sets over King after previously losing four consecutive matches to the Tornado in straight sets (0-12).
 
-LMU couldn't have asked for a better time to host King than now as the Railsplitters are at home, where they are undefeated this season behind a 9-0 record.
 
-For the eighth time this season, the Railsplitters recorded a double-digit number of service aces versus Quincy (12) in straight sets, which put them at 143 on the year, good for second best in the country with 2.07 per set.
 
-Evan Cory's team-high 46 aces, averaging 0.676 per set as him tied for first in the nation, while his 367.50 points (5.40 per set) has him in first place lone. Pedro Carvalho and his 83 blocks (1.407 per set) has him ranked in second place.
 
-Through 19 matches, the Railsplitters have compiled 834 kills (12.1 per set) on 1,876 attacks with a .280 attack percentage, while 775 assists have been passed, 580 digs have occurred and 160 total blocks. Along with aces, Cory leads the way in kills (284) and digs (102) as AJ Risavy paces LMU with 669 of those assists.
 
Know the Opponent
 
-King heads to Harrogate behind its two-game winning streak after losing three straight in Hawaii vs. the No. 2 Rainbow Warriors, No. 6 Pepperdine and No. 15 Ball State.
 
-The Tornado sit in the nation's top 10 with 9.42 digs per set (6th) and 0.248 blocks per set (8th). King has 818 kills on 2,009 total attacks with a .248 percentage and 11.1 kills per set, while having 769 assists, 55 service aces, 178.5 total blocks and 697 digs.
 
-Sean Kohlhase paces the Tornado with a team-high 237 kills, 18 aces and third-best digs (94). The next kill leaders are Suetonius Harris (165) and Joshua Kim (160), while Kim has a team second-best 11 aces and Harris has a team-best 129 digs.
 
-Leading the team in blocks is Dalton Johnson (82) and Jon Wheaton (53), while Chandler Christy has a Tornado high 452 assists and JT Deppe is right behind with 247.
