ANDERSON, S.C. – The host Trojans swept the doubles and took four of the six singles flights as they picked up the 5-2 South Atlantic Conference win over LMU Thursday afternoon.
With the win, Anderson improves to 8-5 overall and 2-2 in SAC play, while the Railsplitters fall to 8-5 and 2-3 in the SAC with the loss.
The Trojans defeated LMU in detail in doubles play with the first and third spots winning by 6-3 scores and the second spot ending in a 6-2 decision.
After AU won the no. 1 flight,
Moritz Hoerner picked up the three-set 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Jeffrey Dayton at the second spot to cut the Anderson lead to 2-1. The Trojans then picked up wins at the fourth, sixth and third spots to claim the match victory.
Jake Tuchmann then picked up LMU's second point of the day with his 8-6 win over Preston Morpeth at the sixth spot.
LMU will host eleventh-ranked Wingate in a SAC match Saturday at 11 a.m. at the LMU Tennis Complex.
