HARROGATE, TN – The LMU women's tennis team picked up a win in doubles and a win in singles, but in the end 19th-ranked Wingate was just too much as the Bulldogs went on for the 6-1 South Atlantic Conference win Saturday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Complex.
LMU (9-6, 3-3 SAC) fell 6-3 in the first doubles spot and 6-4 in the third, but the duo of
Julia Loos and
Julia Valls improved to 12-3 overall and 4-2 in SAC play on the season with their 6-3 win at the second flight over WU's Chyi Lee and Claudia De Andreis.
In singles, Loos picked up her 14th win of the season and remained perfect in SAC play at 6-0 as she defeated Riann Hsu 6-1, 6-2 at the third spot.
Johanna Delisse took 14th-ranked ranked Michelle Verpelli to three sets in the first flight before falling 1-6, 7-6, 7-5, while at the fifth spot
Kiersten Waugh also went to three sets with De Andreis before falling 6-1, 6-7, 6-3.
LMU will take Spring Break off before returning to action on March 31 when they host Queens at the LMU Tennis Complex.
