Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Robert Tucker joins 100-point club, Railsplitters fall to Lenoir-Rhyne in home finale

HARROGATE, Tenn. – Robert Tucker tallied an assist to become the fifth player in program history to score 100 career points, but the Lincoln Memorial men's lacrosse team suffered a 17-5 loss to Lenoir-Rhyne in the regular-season home finale on Saturday at the LMU Lacrosse Complex.

Tucker assisted on Chris Tucker's goal at the 9:39 mark of the second quarter to join Adam Golia, Kyle Arcuri, Billy Kopsky and Dylan Neisler as the only other players in the history of the LMU men's lacrosse program to reach the century mark in career points.

Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the day for the Railsplitters (3-9, 1-5 SAC), who saw the Bears (4-7, 3-2 SAC) rattle off a 6-0 run to build a 7-1 lead early in the second quarter and a 13-0 outburst that began with four minutes left in the second and did not end until the closing minutes of the match.

Lenoir-Rhyne finished with a narrow edge in shots 49-41 and shots on goal 30-22, but the Bears converted more than half of their on-target shots into goals, while Lenoir-Rhyne goalies Noah Johnson and Noah Lalli combined to stop 17 of the Railsplitters' 22 shots on frame.

Chris Tucker was the only LMU player with multiple points, contributing a pair of goals on six shots, while Arcuri, Hunter Clark and Reggie Golfin also factored in a goal apiece. Robert Tucker and Golfin led the team with 10 shot attempts apiece, while Clark led the way with seven ground ball recoveries.

After falling behind 7-1, Tucker scored goals at the 9:39 and 4:58 marks to spark a 3-0 rally for the Railsplitters, which was capped by Clark's goal with 4:49 left in the second and cut the deficit to 7-4.

However, Lenoir-Rhyne would not relinquish another score until Arcuri broke the Bears' 13-0 run with a goal with 2:56 remaining in the match. The Bears put the finishing touch on their 17-5 victory on Kyle Landis' goal with 2:03 left in regulation, which proved to be the final goal of the match.

Joe Buduo and Eric Dickinson carried the offensive attack for Lenoir-Rhyne by combining for 12 points. Buduo had five goals and two assists, while Dickinson scored four goals and handed out an assist. Anthony Fraga chipped in three assists, while Mitchell Linklater added a pair of goals.

Trenton Cameron spent all but two minutes in goal for the Railsplitters, allowing all 17 Lenoir-Rhyne goals while making 13 stops. He was relieved by Cal Whyte for the final two minutes.

The Railsplitters celebrated Senior Day prior to Saturday's match, honoring Arcuri, Byran Halona, Patrick Rowe, Kameron Andrews, Cole Atkinson, Andrew Gallagher and Nathan Caldwell

Lincoln Memorial closes out the regular season next week with a pair of road matches, beginning on Wednesday with a trip to Tusculum. That match gets underway at 7 p.m. in Greeneville, Tenn.
