Railsplitters Draw in Early Finish at Lee University

Lightning Finish Ends in a Tie

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Lincoln Memorial University's men's soccer matchup against Lee University was called officially complete as a draw, 0-0, after a lightning delay with just shy of nine minutes remaining in the contest on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Senior forward Matteo Bufalo and sophomore midfielder Danilo Seglio led the way in striking with two shots each for the Railsplitters against Lee University. Most, if not all, shots by LMU were from inside the box.

"This team was able to come in as visitors against a high-quality team and take control of a game for a great period of time. This has easily been the best 45-minute performance by this squad I've seen all year," stated Coach Spain.

Top Drawer Soccer has Lee University ranked at No. 28 in Division-II.

"These players had problems thrown at them throughout the entire game and came up with solutions on the go and not only recognized them but combated them and I couldn't be prouder. The rate of analyzation, processing and executing came quickly and that's exactly what makes a good team."

TEAM STATS
Both teams were active tonight in shooting, the hosts led in total shots (10-8) over the Railsplitters but were equal in shots on goal (4-4). Lee University had the advantage in corner opportunities (6-2) throughout 82 minutes of play.

THE KEEPERS
Railsplitters' Robin Herrmann and Lee University's Daniel Hrenko turned away all four of their shots on the evening.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING
After tonight's draw, the overall head-to-head record remains in ties only (0-0-2) after their first matchup last September.

UP NEXT!
The men's soccer squad is very excited to return to Harrogate as they have played the last four out of five games on the road. LMU looks to host No.4 Young Harris College on Saturday, Sept. 14 for kickoff slated at 3:30 PM.
