Battle Of 2-0 Teams Sees LMU Face Tusculum

Head coach Devan Carter faces former team for first time; battle for first place in the SAC

HARROGATE, Tenn. - Coming off two double-digit victories to open the 2020-21 season, the Lincoln Memorial University women's basketball team (2-0, 2-0 SAC) returns to the friendly confines of B. Frank "Tex" Turner Arena to face Tusculum (2-0, 2-0), the only other undefeated team in the league. Tip-off is scheduled for Nov. 28 at 2 p.m.

Last Time Out 
In their first road game of the  , LMU defeated Coker by a score of 68-55 to improve to 2-0 on the young season. Lauren Flowers recorded her first career double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds while Maggie Jachimczuk matched her with 15 points. Jordan Maney set a career high with 13 points while notching six rebounds and four steals, while Lindsay Proffitt finished with 11 points and Lexi Kiser chipped in five points with a career-high tying five steals.

Versus the Pioneers
The Lady Railsplitter are 44-32 all-time against Tusculum and have won six of the ten matchups since January of 2016. Last season, Devan Carter's Pioneers swept LMU during the regular season on their way to a conference championship and regional berth. LMU looks to the win for the first time since Jan.23, 2019, when they won 76-75 at home.

About Tusculum
Picked to finish seventh in the SAC's preseason poll, the Pioneers are led by first-year head coach Meagan Price, who took over for Carter. Tusculum returns two starters from last season in Maddie Sutton, who averaged nine points and 8.3 rebounds per game, and Jalia Arnwine, who averaged 7.8 points per contest. Senior Aliyah Miller leads this season's team with 22.5 points per game, while Sutton averages 16 points and 12.5 rebounds. The Pioneers have defeated Wingate and UVA Wise to begin the season.

Looking Ahead
LMU will head on the road for a non-conference contest as they face Bluefield State (W. Va.) at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 1. The Lady Ralisplitters will return home for a conference matchup with UVA Wise on Dec. 5 inside B. Frank "Tex" Turner Arena at 2 p.m.
