Lady Railsplitters Return Home To Face Mars Hill

Look to move above .500 in conference play

HARROGATE, Tenn. - Coming off of an impressive road win against Limestone, the Lincoln Memorial University women's basketball team (4-3, 3-3 SAC) will take on Mars Hill (1-5, 1-5) inside B. Frank "Tex" Turner Arena this Saturday, January 16 at 2 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Lady Railsplitters took on Limestone on the road this past Wednesday and came away with a decisive 76-62 victory with all five starters finishing in double figures in the scoring column. Jordan Maney continued her impressive hot streak as of late as she finished with a career-high 20 points, a career-high tying nine rebounds, and a career-high five assists. Lexi Kiser had an excellent all-around game as well with 16 points, five rebounds, and six assists, while Lauren Flowers added 12 points and Lindsay Proffitt had 10. Sophomore forward Grace Day came up big with multiple Lady Railsplitters out of the lineup and finished with a career-high 10 points and a career-high tying six rebounds.

Versus The Lions
The Lady Railsplitters have a 23-11 all-time record against Mars Hill, including a 12-4 mark at home. LMU has won the last 10 meetings, last losing on Jan. 6, 2016 on the road. With a victory, the Lady Railsplitters will notch their 20th all-time conference victory against the Lions.

About Mars Hill
Mars Hill is coached by Briana Clark, who is in her 2nd year as the head coach of the program. Prior to becoming the head coach, Clark was the head coach at Spartanburg Methodist in the junior college ranks for eight seasons. Coming off an 4-24 season, the team is 1-5 (1-5) so far this year. De'Ja Marshall leads the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists as she averages 21 points, 15.5 rebounds and three assists per contest. Gabby Gianikos joins Marshall in double figures as she averages 12.3 points, four rebounds, and 2.7 assists.

Looking Ahead
LMU will go on the road in conference play as they face UVA Wise on Jan.20. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
