HARROGATE, Tenn. – Behind a season-best 19 three pointers and 30 assists on 34 made baskets, the Lincoln Memorial University men's basketball team claimed its second victory over The University of Virginia's College at Wise within just over 48 hours. The fifth-ranked Railsplitters, who improved to 10-1 overall and 8-1 in South Atlantic Conference action, were ultra-efficient once again in a 92-66 road rout inside the David J. Prior Convocation Center in Wise, Virginia, Wednesday night.
Holding the host Cavaliers (0-9, 0-9 SAC) to 41.4 percent (24-of-58) shooting, LMU tallied the second-most assists in a game this season and shot 54 percent (34-of-63) from the field. Going 19-for-40 from beyond the arc (47.5 percent) and 5-for-5 at the free-throw line, the Railsplitters outrebounded UVA Wise by an impressive 45-19 margin and grabbed a season-high tying 14 offensive boards.

Cameron Henry had his best game thus far of 2020-21, notching his third double-double by scoring a season-high 28 points and securing a season-best 14 rebounds. Going 10-for-15 from the floor, which included a career-high seven three pointers on 10 attempts, Henry dished out a team-high tying six assists, made a pair of blocks and earned a steal.
In a contest that saw 28 combined made threes, the Cavaliers went 9-for-26 (34.6 percent) from outside for the night and scored 23 points off of 18 Railsplitter turnovers.
Winning 42 of its last 43 outings, LMU overcame a pair of early five-point deficits. The Railsplitters trailed 12-7 and 15-10 before an 8-1 run over 4:40 of play gave LMU a slim 18-16 lead 11 minutes in. UVA Wise retook the lead at 19-18 on a three, but it would be the home team's last of the contest as a 15-4 Railsplitter run over a 4:11 period gave LMU a 10-point advantage at 33-23.

Devin Whitfield, the Railsplitters took a 13-point, 38-25 lead into the break. LMU went 9-for-18 from outside in the opening 20 minutes of play and assisted on 13 of its 14 first-half field goals. Henry recorded a double-double in the first half alone with 14 points and 11 rebounds as the Railsplitters held the Cavaliers to 34.6 percent (9-of-26) first-half shooting.

Julius Brown in just over four minutes of second-half play, LMU went ahead 50-33. UVA Wise got within 13 at 57-44 after outscoring the Railsplitters 11-7 over a five-minute stretch, but 10 consecutive points off a Henry three, Whitfield layin and redshirt sophomore guard/forward
Xavier Bledson jumper and trio of free throws made it 67-44 with 9:10 to go.
An authoritative Whitfield dunk at the five-minute mark pushed LMU out to a commanding 26-point, 80-54 lead and a 9-2 Railsplitter spurt increased the margin to the largest of the night at 87-56 with 2:51 left off of a layup from redshirt senior forward

Whitfield turned in his ninth-straight 20-point performance with 22 points, five rebounds and a block. Dahling finished with a season-high 16 points, which included four threes, a career-high six assists and a season-high tying seven boards. Bledson also handed out six assists to go along with seven points and six rebounds in 19 minutes of action off the bench.
LMU held UVA Wise guard Cameron Whiteside, who entered Wednesday as the top scorer in the 13-team SAC, to a season-low 10 points on 4-for-12 shooting.

Playing five games within a nine-day stretch, the Railsplitters begin a three-game homestand this weekend when LMU hosts Limestone for a 4:30 p.m. tip-off inside Tex Turner Arena. The Railsplitters will then host Mars Hill Monday, Jan. 25, followed by Carson-Newman next Wednesday, Jan. 27. Both of next week's home tilts will are slated for 8 p.m.
