HARROGATE, TENN. – The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball teams season came to end on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Railsplitters dropped the season finale series in a 3-0 sweep to Tusculum.
The Pioneers jumped out to a 12-5 lead early in the first set, before the Lady Railsplitters battled back to tie the set at 16. The teams traded points the rest of the set, before LMU took a 24-23 late in the set. The Pioneers would bounce back and score the last three points to take the first set 26-24.
LMU hung with the Pioneers in the second set as well, but the Tusculum attack was just too much for the Railsplitters, as they dropped the second set 25-23. The third set was controlled the entire way by Tusculum as they took the third set 25-20.
Ketura Margaret led the Lady Railsplitter offense with 11 kills, while
Gabriela Abreu added six, and
Sierrah Lemons contributed with five kills. Senior
Emily Walter dished out 24 assists and dug out nine balls.
Karen Morris paced the Lady Railsplitter defense with 13 digs, while
Kaley Long tallied three blocks.
