ANDERSON, S.C. - Coming off a difficult match against Queens on Sunday and working with a quick turnaround, the Lincoln Memorial University men's tennis team was unable to reverse their fortunes and fell 6-1 to the Anderson Trojans Monday afternoon. With the loss, the team falls to 5-9 (4-6 South Atlantic Conference) on the season.
Iker Moure and
Jake Tuchmann posted a dominant win at number one doubles with a 6-0 win, but Anderson won the other two matches to grab the early 1-0 lead and the momentum along with it.
The Trojans also dominated the singles portion of play, although
Thom Hermans won in straight sets at number five (6-1, 7-5) to earn the lone point for the Railsplitters as all other matches ended in the minimum two sets or less.
LMU will have a few days off before traveling to Hartsville, S.C. to take on the Coker Cobras on Saturday, Apr. 3. The match is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
