CLEVELAND, Tenn. - In a rare mid-season non-conference matchup, the Lincoln Memorial University men's and women's tennis teams fell to Lee on the road Sunday afternoon. The men drop to 1-6 and the women drop to 2-4 on the season.
On the men's side, LMU dropped doubles matches at number one and number two, but freshmen 
Luca Pavan and 
Thomas Turner won the number three matchup by a score of 6-4. In singles play, 
Thom Hermans won a three-set match at number four (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) and 
Jake Tuchmann continued his excellent season with a three-set win at number three by a score of 6-4, 1-6, 6-4. 
Sebastian Colla was also very competitive at number two before succumbing 2-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Johanna Delisse and 
Valentina Ascarrunz got the women off to a good start in number one doubles with a 7-6 victory, but the Flames won the other two matches to earn the crucial first point. In singles, 
Kristin Vogel was the only victorious LMU player with her 6-4, 6-4 win at number four while Ascarrunz lost in three sets (4-6, 6-4, 6-3) and 
Julia Valls lost a difficult match by a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 at number one.
The teams will now look to bounce back from a difficult weekend as they travel to Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday, Mar. 10. The matches are slated to begin at 2 p.m.
