NEWBERRY, S.C. - In their final game of the 2021 regular season, the Lincoln Memorial University men's lacrosse team traveled to Newberry in search of a win against a ranked team. However, the Wolves dominated throughout and ended the Railsplitters' season with a 21-3 victory. With the loss, LMU finishes the season 0-9 (0-9 South Atlantic Conference).
Newberry began the game with an offensive surge and led by five goals at the end of the first quarter.
Chapman Parker matched another Wolves goal with two of his own to close LMU within four goals, but that would be the closest the Railsplitters got the rest of the way, as Newberry finished the period with five consecutive scores and took an 11-2 lead into the half.
Nico Cicco scored the first goal of the second half between both squads, but that was the last score LMU would notch on the evening. Having the game well in hand, the Wolves substituted frequently and scored ten times over the final two quarters to end the contest.
Cicco finished the season with the team lead in goals (18) while Parker ended his first collegiate season as the runner-up with 15. Cicco and Jendrasik also each had an assist on the evening.
Jordan Sullivan led the defensive charge once again with a career-high eight ground balls and three caused turnovers and
Caldon Whyte played every minute in goal and finished with a career-high 21 saves.
The Railsplitters will look to improve in head coach
Joe Wilson's second season next spring.
