MARS HILL, N.C. – In another tough South Atlantic Conference battle the Lincoln Memorial men's soccer team fell to Mars Hill 3-1. The loss drops the Railsplitters to 1-5-2 on the year, and 0-3-1 in conference play.
The match was close for most of the contest before the Lions scored two late goals to put the game away.
The defense again led the way for LMU, as they took on 20 Mars Hill shots, 11 of which were on goal. The SAC's leader in saves
Robin Hermann added seven more to his total tonight, to bring him to 55 on the year.
The Lions scored got the scoring going late in the first half, as they scored in the 43
rd minute and took a 1-0 lead into the half. The game stayed that way until the 80
th minute when Mars Hill added another goal, then increased their lead to 3-0 in the 83
rd minute.
Arkin Ulusoy netted his team leading third goal of the year as he found the back of the net in the 85
th minute off an assist from
Peter Majer. That however, was as close as the Railsplitters would get, as the Lions held them off for the final five minutes of the match.
Shanden Vergara,
Josue Camacho, and
Jacob Agazzi provided the rest of the LMU offensive attack, as all three attempted two shots, with Camacho put two shots on goal while Vergara and Agazzi each put one shot on net.

The Railsplitters stay on the road to face Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday. They will return home on Tuesday, October 5
th to take on Lee in a nonconference match.
