HARROGATE, TENN. – Sometimes it's just not your night, and that was the case Monday evening for the Lincoln Memorial women's basketball team. The Lady Railsplitters couldn't get shots to fall as they dropped a game to Lenoir-Rhyne 62-43.
The first quarter was back and forth for almost the entire 10 minutes of play.
Lauren Flowers go the game started with a three to open the scoring. After trading buckets, another Flowers three tied the game at 10 halfway through the period. Flowers added two free throws to close out the quarter, but the Bears led after 10 minutes 21-14.
The Bears took over in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Railsplitters 17-5 in the period to take a commanding 38-19 lead heading into the break
Lenoir-Rhyne pushed their lead up to 26 midway through the third quarter, but two three-pointers by
Irelynn Davisson helped bring the Bears lead down to 50-27.
The deficit increased to 30 early in the fourth quarter before LMU answered back with a 12-2 run to end the game to cut the Bears lead. Threes by
Lexi Kiser and
Kassidy Kenny and layups by Kiser and
Addi Kirkpatrick sparked the run as the bench played well down the stretch.
Flowers led the Lady Railsplitters with 10 points to go along with four assists and four rebounds.
Lindsay Proffitt pulled down a team-high seven rebounds and added seven points.
Grace Day added six boards of her own.
Lexi Kiser came off the bench and contributed seven points, and Alex Canaday also provided a spark off the bench with six rebounds and two assists.

The Lady Railsplitters take on Carson-Newman on Wednesday evening at 5:30 before closing out the week against Wingate on Saturday at 2:00. Both games are at home in Tex Turner Arena.
