HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball team attempted a comeback from two sets down, but ultimately fell to Tusculum in four sets (25-22, 25-19, 14-25, 25-13). The Railsplitters dropped to 8-18 (4-11 South Atlantic Conference) with the loss while the Pioneers improved to 10-11 (9-6 SAC) on the year.
Set 1: Tusculum 25-22
After the Pioneers led 7-4 early, the Railsplitters went on a 7-2 scoring run to take the lead at 11-9. Later, Tusculum rallied back with a 4-0 spurt to regain the advantage at 18-16 and would lead from there on out.
Kristen Moehring's five kills and
Karson Brock's six digs led the hosts in the opening frame.
Set 2: Tusculum 25-19
After Lincoln Memorial tied the score at 10-10, the visitors took 8 of the next 11 points to take control of the set at 18-13, leading by at least two points the rest of the way. Moehring led the Railsplitter offense and defense with four kills and five digs in the second stanza.
Set 3: Lincoln Memorial 25-14
The hosts got out to a strong start at 4-0, but the Pioneers soon responded with a 5-0 run to tie it at 9-all. With the score knotted at 14, Lincoln Memorial would take the final 11 points of the set to clinch it on
Abigail Kesler's serve.
Sierrah Lemons put down three kills during the set-deciding run. Kesler collected five digs, and Lemons and Moehring each had three kills to lead the Railsplitters in the third frame.
Set 4: Tusculum 25-13
Tusculum got out to a 7-0 lead and held at least a 5-point advantage for the remainder of the frame on its way to cruising to the set and match victory. Kesler had three kills in the final frame for the Railsplitters.

Tusculum served up nine more aces than Lincoln Memorial (11-2).
