@SplittersWVB to Host Tusculum and Limestone in Return to SAC Play

The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball team returns to South Atlantic Conference play by hosting Tusculum on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Limestone on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Railsplitters had a successful weekend against Peach Belt Conference competition at the SAC/PBC Challenge with wins over USC Aiken and Georgia College & State University on Friday. Lincoln Memorial (8-17, 4-10 SAC) is in a battle with Limestone for the fourth and final spot in the SAC Mountain Division to make the conference tournament, entering the week two games back.
 
Railsplitter Strikes
  • LMU ranks second in the conference in total attacks (2,971) and fifth in total assists (877) and digs (1,232) entering this week's matchups.
  • Freshman setter Amanda Lisi leads the conference in total assists with 772 while ranking third in assists per set (8.77).
  • Junior outside hitters Kristen Moehring (2.88) and Ketura Margaret (2.87) rank seventh and eighth in the SAC, respectively, in kills per set in conference play.
  • Junior libero MJ Trujillo stands at seventh in the league in total digs with 280 and 12th in digs per set (3.20).
SCOUTING TUSCULUM: The Pioneers are coming off a 1-2 weekend at the SAC/PBC Challenge, sandwiching a sweep over Georgia College between a pair of 3-0 setbacks to Augusta and USC Aiken. Tusculum enters the week with a 9-11 record (8-6 SAC) and ranks fourth in the conference in blocks per set (1.93) and fifth in both assists/set (11.75) and digs/set (15.72).
 
Individually, Carly Sosnowski is second in the conference in digs/set (5.21) and total digs (375), while Emiah Burrowes has posted the third-most kills per set (3.36) and total kills (242) on the season.
 
SCOUTING LIMESTONE: The Saints beat UVA Wise in four sets on Saturday after falling to Emory & Henry in a five-set match on Friday to enter the week at 9-8 (6-8 SAC). Limestone collectively leads the league in attacks per set (39.54), a mark that ranks No. 4 in NCAA Division II, and has the second-most digs/set in the conference (17.46).
 
Gabby Wessels ranks third in the SAC in digs per set (5.03) and total digs (352).
