Spartanburg, SC- The Lady Railsplitters took on the King Tornados this afternoon for the last game of the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge. LMU had a good lead over the Tornado's all game until the 4
th quarter where King came close to catching up. The Lady Railsplitters quickly closed the door on them, securing their win 60-53. LMU is now (2-0) overall on the season.
 
Saquita Joyner was on fire in the 1
st quarter putting up 8 points as well as Alexa Smiddy who put up 6 points. Geovana Rios was very aggressive on the backboards, having 4 rebounds and 1 steal. In the 2
nd quarter Chloe Savage put up 5 points and Saquita Joyner put up 6 more points.
 
In the 3
rd quarter, LMU was up 32-20 to start the half. Sydney Reed, 
Lauren Flowers, and Alexa Smiddy all had 3-pointers, on top of 
Lauren Flowers' 4 and Saquita Joyner's 3 additional points. In the 4
th quarter the Tornado's started to catch up to the Railsplitters. Saquita Joyner, Alexa Smiddy, and 
Lauren Flowers denied them of a victory in the last few minutes of the game. Saquita Joyner put up 7 points, Alexa Smiddy put up 3 points, and 
Lauren Flowers put up 2 points. Geovana Rios, Chloe Savage, 
Jordan Maney, Alexa Smiddy, and Saquita Joyner dominated the backboards all game long.

The Lady Railsplitters took the victory over the King Tornados this Saturday evening with a final score of 60-53. LMU will be back in action this Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 5:30pm, when they travel to Greenwood, SC to take on Lander.
