HARROGATE, Tenn. — The Lincoln Memorial women's tennis team raised their record to 3-1 with a solid victory over Young Harris Sunday in the TIC.
LMU swept the singles matches, with only one match going as far as a tiebreaker.
Valentina Ascarrunz needed a tiebreaker to win at her #2 spot, while
Laura Jipescu,
Julia Valls,
Sophia Aray,
Amanda Dahlstrom and
Haley White each won in straight sets.
The Lady Railsplitters fell behind early after dropping the doubles point for the third consecutive match. Valls and Ascarrunz won their #2 doubles match, but the Lady Lions took the next two for the point.
"We have been experimenting with some different pairings in doubles, and it's been a learning process," said coach Mark Walters.
LMU is back in action again this weekend hosting West Virginia Wesleyan, Emory and Henry, and Lee University on consecutive days starting Friday at 6pm. All matches will be held at the Tennis Indoor Center.
