Box Score HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University men's tennis team fell on Sunday afternoon after Lee University controlled the courts from start to finish to take a 6-1 win at the Poteat Complex.
The visiting Flames dominated the doubles to take the early lead, then and followed with singles wins in five of the six lines.
LMU briefly grabbed some momentum by taking the first set at three of the top four singles positions, but couldn't sustain the push as only
Thom Hermans was able to finish with a victory.
Hermans outlasted J.Dasi by a score of 7-6 (3), 3-6, 7-6 (3) at #2 to earn LMU's lone point on the day.
Sebastian Colla and
William Jonsson also captured their first sets before falling in three.
LMU falls to 2-3 on the season with another round of home matches this coming weekend at the Tennis Indoor Center. The 'Splitters host Belmont Abbey on Thursday, and Bluefield (WV) State and West Virginia State on Saturday. Sunday, Bluefield (VA) College comes in to finish off their February homestand.
